It's that time again.
Ordering parts! FINALLY ordering components for the first batch of Crazy 88 Loop Boosts. I’m also getting some things to prototype a different boost circuit I’ve been dying to try out, as well as the enclosure and switch for my new external tap tempo for my DL4.
Also got a local connection to make screens for me. Hopefully these new pedals will be my first successful screen print of...
Up for grabs...
Got a PBRDrive burning a hole in my desk. Discounted!

Slight last minute changes.
So I altered the circuit a little for the Crazy 88 between the prototype and this first production test. And, turns out, both the before and after sound great. The prototype had a lot of low end. I tamed that a bit (by 10%) in the production test build.
But. After letting JakeVP have a go, he said he was missing what the prototype was giving him.
So what do we do? We add a stinkin toggle...

It's Building Time!
Just got the stuff for an Abbey AB/Y build, as well as (hopefully) everything I need to put together the first official Crazy 88 Loop Boost.
Time to start drilling!
Got one!
Apparently this blogging thing is getting somewhere: just got a cold call order last night for an Abbey from a random awesome guy in Missouri.
Thanks Aaron! Just ordered the parts!

No go
Epic failure.
Sand and repaint.
Cross your fingers
I’m about to attempt a toner transfer to label the top of an Abbey. Previously, I’ve been simply printing the entire top label with my laserjet printer. Then, using clear coat like glue, applying the entire sheet to the top… Then soaking the whole deal in clear coat. When it works, it works. When it doesn’t, which is most of the time, it’s a royal pain. Works well...
More stuff and things!
Just ordered parts for an Abbey order, as well as stuff to prototype the loop boost thing.
Really psyched on this new one. It’s basically a really warm clean boost with an FX loop in front of the boost. It’ll have boost bypass, as well as a master bypass (both boost and loop).

Recommendations?
So, a PBRDrive owner recommended an amber light that’s a bit dimmer than the blue one I have going.
Thoughts?
I think I got it
Pretty sure I figured out this video thing. It’s funny, I’m a professional recording engineer and yet I can’t do anything but cuss when it comes to video.
Now I just have to redo everything.
Should be quick, though, now that I have a workflow and process. Stay tuned for a couple of SIMPLE walk through videos of The Abbey and The PBRDrive.

Let's see how this goes.
I am an audio guy. Video is not my gig. Yet I’m trying to make a couple videos for these pedals I got. Wish me luck.
Up for grabs...
So, in this last order of PBRDrives, I was able to make an extra. It’s going to the first person to speak up! $100 out the door, and it’s ready to go.

I think I'm good?
Got the stuff ordered to finish the other two Abbeys. One I’m painting right now, drilled it this afternoon. Should be good to wire these guys tomorrow and send them off to their new owners.
…should be.
This has to be dealt with.
So there’s this common issue with a certain industry standard GREEN digital delay pedal: it’s quiet. It’s not a huge deal when you’re always using it, but it chokes your signal to the rest of your chain. Then, when you bypass it, your normal signal volume spikes up to where it should be. That’s not cool. While there are mods out there for the delay pedal, I’m...
Dang it. Everytime.
Didn’t order enough parts for everything. Good news is we’re good on the PBRDrives. In fact, 3 out of 5 of their boards are wired and ready to go in, and all the boxes are finished and have the components installed.
Just need a couple things for the Abbeys. Dang.
